1. Purpose & Scope
Echoes of America is a platform dedicated to fostering meaningful discussions about democracy, civic values, and the American experience. Contributors will write on assigned topics each month, sharing perspectives in 1,000 words or less. The goal is to counter misinformation, promote informed discussion, and redefine civic engagement.
2. Content Guidelines
Relevance: Submissions should relate to the assigned topic.
Writing Style: Informal, unpolished, and personal styles are acceptable. You won’t be judged for the quality of your prose.
Tone & Language: Slang, sarcasm, and profanity are allowed. Excessive negativity and inflammatory rhetoric should be avoided. Facts, statistics, and quotes must be sourced. If they cannot be verified, we cannot publish your work.
Political Speech: Discussions of policies, governance, and civic issues are welcome.
Partisan speech (endorsement, opposition, or emotional rhetoric about specific parties or candidates) is not allowed.
3. Submission Process & Moderation
Moderation: All submissions are reviewed for adherence to guidelines. Flagged content will not be altered but may receive feedback.
Civility: Personal attacks and disruptive behavior will not be tolerated; repeat offenders may be blocked.
Attribution: Contributors must submit under a real identity but may choose whether to have their name published.
Resubmissions: After contributing to the current topic, authors may submit perspectives on past topics.
4. Rights & Ownership Contributors retain ownership of their work.
Echoes of America reserves the right to publish, archive, or remove submissions that violate guidelines.
Content cannot be submitted anonymously, but will we will never publish your name without your consent.
